Let nutrition overwhelm work to your favor
Back when I was on a quest to flatten my tummy, I worked out diligently after work. I ate whole grains, salads and lean animal protein. Despite this solid regimen, however, I was not getting the energy and mental clarity that I so desired. It was quite frustrating.
Fast forward a couple years and Paleo, Keto and a hundred and one ways to detox your body started dominating (and continue to dominate) the internet:
• Have this ginger/turmeric/lemon/honey drink every morning to feel brand new again
• Going vegan is the only way to go
• Substitute vegetable oil with canola oil, it's healthier
• Consuming fats WILL help you lose weight
• Kale is toxic (I saw this recently from a wellness influencer)
It's no wonder why most people are overwhelmed and ultimately decide to give up on their efforts to be healthy or not do anything at all, despite feeling fatigued or brain fogged all the time!
The conflicting information on nutrition out there can be discouraging. I get it. I gave up for awhile, but my strong desire and belief to feel better far outweighed the chaotic informational mess that I was exposed to on a daily basis.
I got back on the healing path, read a book on nutrition that my sister had referred to me, followed the protocol and finally got that energy and mental clarity that I craved for many years.
Here are the lessons I'd like for you to take from this post:
➤ Any diet can work and any diet can fail; how else will you know if you don't try?
➤ You have all the info that you need to feel good and I believe that you know in your heart what needs to be done; just start.
➤ Instead of getting lost and feeling overwhelmed in the sea of conflicting information, how about just going back to basics (remove what you know isn't working well and consume more of what is)?
➤ Let food and managing your mind (having a strong desire, cleaning up your thoughts, holding on to belief) be your medicine
