Self-care and eating right can only go so far in your journey to vitality

What if you took self-care and 10x’ed it? I don’t mean getting a massage everyday (though it sounds nice) or practicing nonstop hedonism.

I’m talking about the concept of falling in love with yourself, unconditionally.

Think about the people in your life that you love and would bend over backwards to care for and support. Or the person you’re currently in love with who you accept wholeheartedly, flaws and all.

What if you were one of those people? What if you took the oxygen-mask-on-yourself-before-others concept and applied every principle of loving someone unconditionally to YOU? How would you show up everyday? How would things change? Really think about it.

It could look something like this:

I love my flat stomach, but not so much my nose and it’s ok

I eat pretty well, but need to exercise more and it’s ok

I’m feeling lazy today and it’s ok

I had KFC and it was good and it’s ok

I didn’t go to the gym for a week and it’s ok

Find the right balance of consistent action and release all judgement when you do fall off the wagon (because it will happen, and it’s ok).

The journey to physical and mental vitality can be a roller coaster of a ride. When you can embrace the messy up’s and down’s—with love, kindness and compassion—healing will be inevitable. Stress levels will dwindle and your gut friends will love you for life!

Do you practice self-love on a regular basis?
